Custom Orders
All custom work will be evaluated by goldsmith Rachael to assess suitability and if she can create a quality piece that meets both the customer’s and her standards. Reasons custom projects may be declined include but aren’t limited to schedule, originality, material availability, and skillset. Laughing Sparrow will NOT create pieces that are a straight up copy of another artist’s work. If you like a piece made by someone else, please support that artist. If you are inspired by another piece of work but want substantial changes to make it unique to you, let's talk!
After receiving your application, we will review your form, discuss it with you, and if the project is a go, we'll get started as soon as we receive your deposit. During busy season we may not be able to get back to all requests promptly. Please don't DM, email, or fill out another form. We got your request, we are just very busy!!
Before accepting your project, we will confirm the cost and when we can ship it with you. Depending on our schedule and the complexity of your project, your custom piece will take anywhere from 6-14 weeks. At the time of order, we will give you a better estimate of when your item will ship, based on current workloads and schedule.
Financial terms
All custom orders are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit before we will begin creating your piece. The balance is due before it will be shipped. You will receive invoices via email, and payment can be made by credit card or e-transfer.
All custom orders are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. We are creating this piece of jewelry just for you! If there are any problems with the workmanship of your order, we will repair or replace it.
Changes to your order after you’ve approved the design and paid the 50% deposit may be subject to additional fees at the discretion of Laughing Sparrow.
Customer Supplied Materials
If you have stones or a piece of jewelry that have special significance to you, we would love to create something new and special for you if possible. Before beginning the work, we will ensure you’re aware of the risks and limitations of working with materials supplied by you. Your order will be subject to approval of the materials supplied.
